James qualified from Manchester university in 2004 and gained membership of the royal college surgeons in 2015. He has worked across the north west including the emergency dental service. James has a huge passion for life and all things dental related, supported by a close and talented team he’s established Deansgate Dental as the go to place for patients in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester and even some patients who visit us from across Europe!

With an emphasis on family and cosmetic care. Being one of only 8 practices in the North West which is NHS child friendly. James’s passion for teaching dentistry and continuing development is clear. James loves spending time with his family. Making children excited and look forward to seeing the dentist is his
everything. Educating children and parents in caring for their teeth, with the view to avoid tooth decay and further related treatments. As well as making the teeth look superb.James loves the outdoors, walking and mountain biking in the Pennines around Saddleworth. In fact his wife says James would have happily have been a farmer if he had not been an award winning dentist!

Charles quickly became a valued member of our team when he joined us in 2018 after qualifying from Manchester University, leaving for a short few months to go to London, he soon returned to re-join the practice and has been with us since.

Charles’ empathetic and caring approach to dentistry aids with his passion in helping anxious patients regain their confidence at the dentist.

Not only do his patients feel relaxed and comfortable visiting him, he also has spent the last few years working really hard to expand his skill set, whether this be general dentistry to Invisalign he truly is a wonderful dentist, our entire team thoroughly enjoy Charles’ company be it in surgery or out.

Outside of work Charles’ passion is anything car related, from working on them himself to taking his cars on a track day. Charles also enjoys hiking as well as relaxing on the sofa enjoying a good movie!

We welcomed Johanna to our team in 2017, Johanna qualified from Manchester University in 2014.

Johanna is a Dental therapist, when you visit the practice you may see her for treatment as advised by your dentist.

Johanna enjoys the variety her job provides, she helps you with looking after your teeth and gums, with cleaning and restorations.

Johanna has a fabulous personality and is amazing with children, she has been likened to a children’s television presenter on occasion! Outside of work, you will almost always find her with her fur baby, Hugo, the dog! If she could she would bring him to work with her! Johanna also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Joanne qualified as a dental therapist at Sheffield University in 2009 and was the first therapist to join our team in 2010.

Joanne has a love for restorative dentistry and has also expanded her skill set most recently with facial aesthetics.

Joanne is a well loved member of our team with her perfectionism towards treatment and her lovely personality, Joanne is a joy to be around for everyone. Outside of practice, Joanne loves to spend time with her two children. She particularly loves to travel, especially to Greece.

Meet Nia whom joined us here at Deansgate Dental in 2019 after completing her Dental Therapy training.

Nia is very passionate about Dentistry and is currently studying to become at a Dentist at Leeds University. Nia is a multi award winning dental therapist. She enjoys providing optimal patient care whilst making patients feel at ease with her calming nature.

Nia brings an amazing energy to our team with her very bubbly, warm personality, everybody in the team looks forward to spending time with her. In her spare time, Nia likes to keep active by running, looking after the homeless cats in the city centre and also studying!

Maddiha Hussain graduated from the University Of Manchester in 2022 as a Dental Hygiene Therapist gaining a degree in Oral Health Science. She is the newest member here at Deansgate dental. As a GDC registered Dental Hygienist and Therapist, Maddiha can provide patients with a range of treatments including restorations, gum treatments, application of topical fluoride, extraction of baby teeth and taking radiographs amongst others. Her main interests within dentistry are periodontics and improving patient understanding of prevention and treatment of periodontal disease.

Maddiha is a polite and friendly person who takes pride in herself ensuring patients feel at ease, whether this be nervous anxious patients or even children, whilst providing a high standard of care and treatment.

Outside of dentistry, Maddiha enjoys cooking, keeping fit and spending time with family and friends.

In January 2022, Hannah became our dedicated practice manager. Hannah joined our team straight from school in 2010 completing an apprenticeship in Dental nursing, she quickly realised that her passion is caring for others.

Her primary focus is ensuring the practice is a safe, welcoming and enjoyable place to be for our wonderful team and lovely patients. Hannah is passionate in her role and continually strives to improve her skills and knowledge to provide the best possible care for staff and patients alike.

Becoming our Mental Health and Wellbeing champion in 2022, Hannah thoroughly enjoys implementing what she continually learns, within the practice. Outside of work Hannah is busy running around after her toddler and refuelling with lots of tea!

Our lovely receptionist Sheila, is the pinnacle of our practice, Sheila started her career here as a trainee dental nurse in 1979 and qualified in 1984. Our patients look forward to Sheila’s welcoming and warm presence when they come, and many enjoy coming just for the chats they will have.

In 1999 after 20 years of nursing Sheila hung up her scrubs and has never looked back, she loves meeting old and new patients, enjoys watching them grow up from being born to bringing their own children.

Sheila always has the patients at the forefront of her mind and thrives on helping patients to feel relaxed and happy when they attend.

Sheila loves holidays particularly to Turkey, Spain and Cyprus. Sheila also enjoys spending time with her 40 grand-children and great grand-children!

Susan has been a member of our team since 2010, Susan has a genuine interest in caring for our patients as whole, not just their teeth but their lives as a whole.

Susan helps to keep the practice running smoothly and efficiently with her great organisational skills, she makes sure we always have whatever we need when we need it and everywhere is neat and tidy, you can usually find Susan re-organising a room or ordering supplies!

In her spare time Susan is actively involved in community service caring for people in all walks of life and with various Christian Church activities, she also loves to read a good book!

Talia is an established dental nurse and joined our team in 2017, starting her journey here at Deansgate Dental as an apprentice.

Approachable and friendly, Talia believes that information is key to good oral health, always striving to help and guide our patients, providing quality care.

Talia is our active Healthy Living Dentistry lead and has a particular interest in children’s preventative care.

Talia has great organisational skills and helps to keep the practice up to date with our compliance, particularly in Infection Control. A busy mum in her spare time, Talia loves to read and plan fun days out with family and friends.

As our healthy living dentistry champion, Nicole is very passionate about quality patient care. Nicole enjoys staying active in her free time, whether it be in the gym or a walk in the countryside with friends. Nicole also loves to cook and spend time with her family.

Mya began her education to become a dental nurse in January 2021 here at Deansgate Dental. Mya is a great team member and is always willing to go above and beyond for our patients.

Mya enjoys getting to know our patients and assisting them on their journey here. Meeting new patients, earning their trust and helping them to feel at ease are the aspects of her job Mya appreciates the most. Her knowledge and self assurance have significantly improved over her time here.

Lauren joined our practice on a journey to becoming a dental nurse in March 2021.

Since joining our practice, Laurens confidence in her role has improved significantly and works hard to put patients at ease, and enjoys seeing patients leave with a smile on their face. Lauren particularly enjoys helping children enjoy coming to the dentist and helping to put them at ease.

Outside of work Lauren enjoys going on holiday, spending time with her mum and her friends.
